HOV - Worst New Home Sales on Record
Via Calculated Risk ( http://www.calculatedr... ):
"Ignore all the month to previous month comparisons. May was revised down sharply and that makes the increase look significant. Here is the bottom line: this was the worst June for new home sales on record.
[...]
In June 2010, 30 thousand new homes were sold (NSA). This is a new record low for June.
The previous record low for the month of June was 34 thousand in 1982; the record high was 115 thousand in June 2005."
And yet HOV was up 6% today. Go figure. Still holding those puts I got on this ( http://shortscreen.com... ). May look again at adding more.

It's surprising to me how few of the homebuilders have actually gone belly up. If you had asked me back in 08, I was sure half of them would be totally wiped out by now. But they keep limping along.
Bloomberg: "Pending Sales of Existing U.S. Homes Decrease 2.6%" ( http://www.bloomberg.c... ).
