bspm - BSPM 'interest income' another flag?
Wow, just looked at BSPM again and take a look at their interest income thru 9 months and then at year end.
I get thru 9 months 'interest income': about $9.7K
And thru 12 months 'interest income': $34K+ (and noticed the previous year's interest income about $2K!)
Whoa, so the company earned about $2K in interest for 2009? And $34K for 2010?
And in 2010 they earned about 70%+ ofthat in the 4th Q? And their cahs balance was actually down sequentially in Q4?
Smells fishy to me...
Anybody wonder if they made commitments to someone to gain access to cash they then deposited into accts to pass the year end audit? And this thusly resulted in a ballooning of commitments at year end and ballooning of interest income in Q4 (because of a big influx of cash into accts)?
I sure hope not.
Just glancing over this so take it as a light DD exercise and not any kind of proof. But look at the Q3 and annuals for yourselves taking note of the interest income lines and the Note 11 commitments... Hmmm.

BTW, I am not long or short this company's stock. Just looking at items that look potentially worth investigating further if I did have money at risk either way. Note 11 and the interest income figures changing dramatically sequentially for the annual report does draw my eye though.
Good catch. Definitely something a potential long ought to look at before considering this one.
