McCormick & Schmick's weak financial suggest that our local M&S is typical of the chain: ours is located in high-end mall that includes a Cheesecake Factory, a Rosa Mexicano, a Houston's, a Morton's, a P.F. Chang's, and a Maggiano's. When there's a two hour wait at Houston's, you can get a table immediately at the McCormick & Schmick's next door.

The main problem with McCormick & Schmick's seems to be that its prices are too high relative to its quality. Its specialty is seafood, but you can get a much better salmon fillet at Houston's. Even the furniture at Houston's is of higher quality. M&S essentially offers sub-Cheesecake quality food and at Houston's prices. That's probably why M&S offers 20% discount coupons at Costco and the other two don't.
